E-Apostilles
The UK Foreign Office – to give its full title, the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office – now accepts applications for e-Apostilles. These are apostilles that are attached electronically to documents which themselves exist digitally, rather than on paper.
E-Apostilles are not yet accepted everywhere and for everything, however their use is growing. One of their advantages is speed; the Foreign Office aims to attach e-Apostilles within 2 working days of an application for one, and the application itself is made electronically, or digitally – so no need to post or courier paper documents.
I can now notarise documents electronically, sometimes even avoiding the need for an in person, face to face meeting. If this is of interest to you at any stage, please feel free to contact me.
